Modern country means modern education, says Armenian president


President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian has received today the delegation of Teach For Armenia (TFA) Foundation, headed by founder and CEO Larisa Hovannisian.

Armen Sarkissian has highlighted the importance of the foundation’s work, pointing out that quality education is necessary for developing the country.

“If we speak of a modern country, we have to realize that modern country means modern education and high-level, educated specialists,” he said.

Larisa Hovannisian has revealed that TFA plans to hold an international conference titled “Preparing young people for building a variable world” in cooperation with Teach For All network this autumn in Yerevan.

President Sarkissian has welcomed the plan and expressed readiness to contribute to the conference.
