10,000 Armenians Step Forward to Join Army as Volunteers, But Defense Ministry Says No Need Yet

Up to 10000 civilians across Armenia have contacted district military commissariats asking to be recruited as volunteers and join the troops amid the massive Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia, however, issued a statement saying the military does not require volunteers at this time.

“The Armenian Ministry of Defense is highly appreciating our countrymen’s willingness, but at this time there is no need for volunteer recruitment,” it said, adding that if such necessity arises a statement will be made.
