Armenia wins more medals at IWF 2019 World Championship

Armenian weightlifters Gor Minasian and Roupen Alexanian have won silver and bronze respectively at the 2019 IWF World Championships in Thailand, Armenpress reports.

Minasan successfully lifted 200kg, 207kg and 212 kg in snatch, and then also lifted 248kg in clean and jerk. He was named silver medalist of the super heavy weight division.

Alexanian’s snatch result was only 192kg, followed with 241kg and 245kg clean and jerk. He won bronze.

Earlier two other Armenian weightlifters had won gold and were crowned world champions – Hagop Mkrtchian and Simon Martirosian.
