Armen Sarkissian pays a visit to Armenian-Turkish border

President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian has stated that the flags of Armenia and Russia waving at the state border of Armenia symbolize the friendship and allied relations, based on mutual trust, between the two countries.

He has made this remark on the visit to the border, during which he has also met with the Russian border guard detachment.

Under the agreement signed by Armenia and Russian on 30 September 1992, the detachment guards Armenia’s border with Turkey and Iran.

“The border guard unit of the security service of the Russian Federation fully realizes its duties in Armenia,” added President Sarkissian.
