Etchmiatsin Welcomes US House of Representatives Recognition of Armenian Genocide

At the ongoing Supreme Spiritual Council at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiatsin presided by Catholicos II, the Armenian Church welcomed the US House of Representatives’ adoption of the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

The Mother See said the Supreme Spiritual Council “by welcoming the adoption of the resolution, viewed it as an important step in the context of restoring historical justice towards the Armenian people and respecting the sacred memory of our holy martyrs of the genocide”.

The clergy also expressed appreciation to all organizations and individuals whose efforts led to reaching the milestone.

The Supreme Spiritual Council expressed hope that the government and good people of the United States will continue with the same fairness to make efforts for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and prevention of such crimes in the world.
